This summer I spent two weeks in North Africa. While there, I was able to worship with a local group of Christians: people who are following Jesus in the face of persecution and loss. At the Sunday morning gathering I used my phone to capture this recording of their joyful singing to the Savior, who takes people who are weak and poor, and makes them strong and rich.

Give thanks with a grateful heart;
Give thanks to the Holy One.
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son.
Give thanks with a grateful heart;
Give thanks to the Holy One.
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son.
And now let the weak say, “I am strong,”
Let the poor say, “I am rich,”
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
Give thanks.
